Support - special needs

Your Path in Inclusive Education

All children in the Netherlands have the right to education. Most children are able to follow lessons at school without any problems. However, every child is different. Sometimes, extra support is needed. And sometimes, the need for support is so great that a regular secondary school cannot provide it. In that case, a child may attend a school for secondary special education. There is always a school that can offer help. This is called inclusive education.

If you, as a parent or student, are dealing with inclusive education, you may have many questions. O&J aims to inform parents and students about inclusive education in regular schools or (secondary) special education, so that they are aware of the available options. O&J is a support center for parents and students living in the municipalities of Castricum, Uitgeest, Heemskerk, and Beverwijk.

Special needs: basic and extra

Because of the way our education is organized into half-day sessions, teachers at Supreme College are able to give students a lot of personal attention and get to know them well. In addition, IB education focuses especially on learning important skills.

Our support program is designed to help students develop in the best possible way. This support may involve help with schoolwork, but also with social-emotional issues or challenges outside of school.

The visual shows how we work: what we offer to all students as a foundation, and what additional support is available if needed.
